In a historic move toward gender inclusion and wildlife conservation, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by recruiting women into the Punjab Wildlife Force for the first time. The recruitment process saw over 22% female candidates successfully securing positions in a field traditionally dominated by men. This achievement marks a major step forward in gender equality and environmental conservation in the region.
Record-Breaking Women’s Participation in Punjab Wildlife Force
As Punjab establishes its first-ever Wildlife Force, the selection process for key positions such as Wildlife Supervisors and Inspectors has been highly competitive and merit-based.
✅ Wildlife Supervisor Roles – Women achieved an impressive 47.2% success rate, nearly equal to the 48.6% success rate of male candidates.
✅ Wildlife Inspectors – A total of 34 women and 35 men were selected, showcasing a strong gender balance in the force.
This significant progress highlights Punjab’s dedication to gender diversity and the integration of women into environmental and wildlife protection efforts.
